Tanzania Religion

The religious views of the population in Tanzania are divided into 3 major groups: about 45 percent are Christians, 35 percent Muslims and the remaining 20 percent practice one of the many natural religions.

There are no big disagreements between Christians and Muslims, they often live as neighbors, good friends and even marry. People in the Western world have much to learn when it comes to the way Tanzanian people co-operate outside religious boundaries.

In work places in Nzega Christians and Muslims celebrate the religious festivals of each other which results in many holidays. It is important to enjoy the good things in life!

In the former independent state of the island of Zanzibar a total of 99 percent of the population are Muslims.
